Peonies are that ever-coveted wedding flower, and are not only delicate, but also can be quite seasonal and expensive. Luckily in the spring, Colorado florists enjoy a local season of peonies grown on the Western Slope.
The trick with peonies is to make sure they're in season if you want them for your wedding. Typically, March through June is really the best season for affordability.
This lovely bouquet was one of our favorites of the season. It had the perfect blush tones, and those perfectly opened peonies make us SWOON! The bride loved blush pink, garden roses, and check out that perfect pink stock flower! Her lovely soft french netting dress, that rhinestone hair piece... So gorgeous!
Even the cake got some lovely vintage flowers, and it had a rustic, soft texture as well. Look at those ranunculus cake flowers!
The maids carried a peony, wrapped with silk ribbon. Sometimes simple can look gorgeous, especially when it's a perfect peony! Please keep seasonality of these wonderful flowers in mind, and ask your florist for options if they're out of season. Ranunculus and Garden roses are great substitutes, to keep that same layered, vintage, romantic look.
